Like是一词多义，在翻译过程中作为不同的词性有不同的意思和用法，其用法如下：

1、 作名词时，为“爱好，同样的人（或物）”
Eg: Tom has many likes. 汤姆有很多爱好。
   Wheat, oat and the like are cereals. 小麦、燕麦等等皆系谷类。

2、 作形容词，为“相似的，同样的”
Eg: They are as like as two peas.   他们相似极了。

3、 作动词时，为“喜欢”
Eg: I would like some coffee. 我想要点咖啡。（like 为Vt）
   If you like, we can meet you here. 如果你愿意的话，我们在那接你。（like为Vi）
当然也有like+V-ing的用法，不再举例。

4、 作介词时，为“象，如同”Eg: It’s not like you to take offense. 你不像会发脾气的人。

5、 作副词时，为“可能，如同”Eg: Like as not she will change her mind. 很可能她会改变主意。（非正式用语）
